Today, Acer lowered the price on its Iconia W3-810 Windows 8 based 8.1-inch tablet. Previously at $379, the tablet will now only cost you $299--that's a price cut of $80. This reduction in price comes shortly after Microsoft cut prices on its Surface Pro devices by $100 over the weekend.

The Iconia W3-810 was the first sub-10 inch tablet to run a full version of Windows 8 and it included a full-version of Microsoft Office on the standard install. Many industry analysts say that the 20 percent price reduction is a move designed so Acer can clear if inventory for an upcoming model refresh which will be thinner, lighter, and more user-friendly.
