As rumored last week, Microsoft has slashed the prices of its Surface RT tablet line in an effort to reduce stock of a device that has not met Microsoft sales expectations. This price drop comes amidst rumors of a refresh to both the Surface RT and Surface Pro tablets which could see both devices getting a bump in processing power, battery life, and other features and design cue changes.
The $150 price drop means that you can now pick up a 32GB surface RT for $349 or the 64GB version for just $449. If you are of the type who fancies a touch cover version, add $100 to the price of each tablet for a $449 and $549 price tag respectively. Additionally, Microsoft is now offering the 32GB Surface RT to schools for just $199 or with the Touch keyboard addition for just $249 and the Type keyboard cover costing the school $289 each.
