RumorTT: Shortage in Retina display panels means no refreshed iPad mini this year

RumorTT: Retina-powered iPad mini won't arrive until early 2014 due to Retina panel shortages
| Mobile Devices, Tablets & Phones News | Posted: Jul 14, 2013 12:18 pm

It looks like we shouldn't expect a second-generation iPad mini this year, with Apple forced to delay the Retina-based iPad mini due to a shortage on Retina display panels according to Taiwan's Economic Daily News.

Apple were planning to launch the device sometime in Q4 2013, which would've been perfect for the holiday shopping season, but it looks like those plans are squashed. It is being reported that the Cupertino-based giant were set to launch both a Retina and non-Retina second-generation iPad mini later this year, but we won't see this until early 2014 now.

This could all change, as it usually does, which is why we've used our RumorTT stamp of [kind of] approval.
