Star Trek Enterprise: Season 2 hits Blu-ray in August

Paramount, no doubt keen to capitalise on the swirl of interest surrounding the evergreen Star Trek property this year, have set the release date of Star Trek Enterprise: Season Two for August 21, marking the first time the second series has been released in high definition.

The 26 episodes that make up season two have been cleaned up from the original HD masters and is joined by a lossless 5.1 DTS HD audio mix. However, in a fashion that we've now become accustomed to, CBS has allowed disc producers Roger Lay and Robert Meyer Burnett to return with some new extra features including a full length cast and crew reunion feature, the three part "Destination Unknown" retrospective documentary, deleted scenes, audio commentaries and outtakes, as well as features created for the original DVD release.
