Apple will be chasing down some military contracts next week when the US Defense Department approves the use of Apple devices running iOS 6 or later on their networks.

Apple will then enjoy the same security approvals that both BlackBerry and Samsung enjoyed last week, and will hopefully lead to some more sales for Apple. But, military certification of the iPhone and iPad is just the first step in a long road for Apple, which will require the creation of a mobile device management system to secure them. This contact to develop that isn't expected until the summer.
