AMD Barton Compatibility with ABIT Motherboards

| Motherboards News | Posted: Apr 19, 2003 3:32 pm

ABIT sent us a basic AMD Barton compatibility chart earlier this week detailing which of their motherboards will work with the upcoming processor from AMD. Adrian from Rojak Pot was kind enough to formalize it for us all and let the wider AMD community to know about the good news.

This is especially good news for not just ABIT motherboard users, but of others - if one company can do it, you can be assured others will be able to achieve the same feat.

Sometime ago, ABIT sent out a press release stating that certain ABIT motherboards have been certified to support the new 400MHz FSB AMD Barton processors. Actually, the word "new" should be replaced with the word "upcoming" because AMD didn't announce the new processors yet! So, ABIT accidentally let the cat out of the bag! However, that's really not the topic of discussion today.
