Since its release in 2009, Angry Birds has become one of the most popular and most played video games of all time. Its success on iOS launched game developer Rovio into the stratosphere virtually overnight.

While the game has been free (ad supported) on Android for some time now, the aggravated aviary app recently dropped in price to $0.99 for the iPhone version and $2.99 for the HD iPad version. Today both apps are appearing to be free in the App Store.

There were free versions of both apps before, but they only contained a few playable levels and were basically considered Demo versions. Both have been removed from the App Store, leading us to believe that the full free versions are here to stay.
