Geoff Gasior from Tech Report visited Chaintech's recent Evolution Event in Spain - kind of like a Chaintech-only computer expo. They talk about Chiantech's Athlon 64 plans and give us a peak at their 30db GeForce FX Ultra 5800 graphics card along with a mini chipset roundup from Intel, SiS and VIA.

Unfortunately, there's not much Chaintech or any other motherboard manufacturer can do about the Athlon 64 delay. Changes will have to be made and plans for first-generation products will have to be scrapped to avoid introducing a "new" motherboard in September whose feature set is more than six months old. Based on what I saw at Chaintech's Evolution Event, I have to say that I'm quite optimistic about what we'll see out of Chaintech for the Athlon 64. We'll just have to wait a while, like everyone else.
