The software tool released today known as Evasi0n has garnered hundreds of thousands of downloads in mere hours. Around 270,000 users were active when the download went live and the Evad3r's team saw 1TB of server data used in just 10 minutes. The download is just under 10 MB, which means that around 100,000 copies had been downloaded.

Fast forward a couple of hours and that number surpassed 4.2TB of data used. This equates to around 500,000 downloads. While not every download equates to a jailbreak, a single download could equate to several jailbreaks in a multi-device or multi-user environment.

Of course, the tool won't keep up that sort of download rate for long, but you can see the amount of users who were waiting desperately for a jailbreak tool.
