AMD Ships Mis-labeled CPU's

| CPUs, Chipsets & SoCs News | Posted: Jan 4, 2003 11:39 pm

Be sure to double-check before you click Buy on that new AMD 333MHz FSB Athlon. You might not be getting what you paid for. 266MHz FSB CPU serials end with a "C", and 333MHz FSB CPU serials end with a "D".

AMD Factory has mislabelled processors. Processors that were labelled to be 333 FSB are actually 266 FSB. This is a problem with current stock. If you received your processor before about December 23, you likely have the correct processor. Just in case, we have photos of the incorrect (i.e. 266 FSB) processors, and the correct (i.e. 333 FSB) processors.
