Corning Gorilla Glass and Gorilla Glass 2 is used in just about every smartphone made these days, but Corning isn't stopping with its improvements. The company has just announced Gorilla Glass 3, which is said to be 40 percent more resistant to visible scratches as well as a 50 percent boost in retained strength after the glass is damaged.

Gorilla Glass 2 was debuted at last year's CES and Gorilla Glass has been used in the iPhone since the original model. It's likely the next generation iPhone will make use of this latest Gorilla Glass. We'll be sure to check it out at CES.
