Steam for Linux ends closed beta
Steam announced yesterday that it was ending it's closed beta of Steam on Linux and was moving forward with an open beta. Everyone who would like to try out some "Tux Gaming" is now welcome to load the Steam client onto their linux based boxes.

You might remember this past summer, when Valve CEO Gabe Newell blasted Windows 8 calling it "a catastrophe" for everyone who uses a PC. Since then Valve has been hard at work porting over steam and a small selection of games to Linux.
I personally know of one person who is most likely jumping for joy after hearing this news as steam was the only reason he had an install of windows running. We would love to hear your reaction to steam being available on Linux. Will this change the way you game? Are you participating in the open beta? Let us know in the comments.
