Oh, God. The iPhone 5 was just released a couple of months ago, yet rumors have already started up for its successor. Rumors are placing the next iPhone5 as launching in June of 2013. The rumor comes courtesy of Jefferies analyst Peter Misek's note released earlier this morning.
He has predicted large things for Apple, including saying that Apple TV was in full production and would be released by the end of the year, something that has seemingly proven false. However, he predicted that an iPhone 4S was coming while everyone else predicted that the iPhone 5 would be the next device.
Chalk that up as a win. So, in his note he says to expect the new iPhone 5S to come with a new "super HD camera/screen, a better battery, and NFC." He's also expecting "possible updates [to] include an IGZO screen for Retina+, 128GB storage." He predicts that the device will make a showing in June, 2013 and be available in 6 to 8 colors, much like the new iPod Touch is.
Apple better not release this new device so quickly after I bought my iPhone 5!
