Samsung Galaxy S III users on AT&T can now pick up Android 4.1 Jelly Bean

By: (more) | Mobile Devices, Tablets & Phones News | Posted: Dec 4, 2012 11:06 pm

AT&T has started handing out updates to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean for users with a Samsung Galaxy S III. Unfortunately for most users, the update isn't being handed out in the traditional manner. Instead of coming over-the-air, as most updates have been, AT&T is only handing out the update via the Samsung Kies desktop application.

This means interested parties will need to plug in their device to their computer and follow the instructions that Samsung has provided here. AT&T Galaxy S III users are just now getting Android 4.1, even though the Nexus 4 is shipping with 4.2. It's now time to play the waiting game again to see how long it will be before Galaxy S III users get Android 4.2.
