Apple either catching up on demand, or demand dropping as shipping estimates for iPhone 5 drop to 2-3 weeks
People interested in purchasing the iPhone 5 will be happy to hear that the shipping estimates for the online Apple Store have dropped to 2-3 weeks across the board. This new estimate is down from 3-4 weeks, and covers all models including the 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB versions of black and white.

There's really only two explanations for the decrease in shipping lead times. Either not as many people are wanting to buy the device, which is allowing Apple to catch up, or Apple is now able to produce more of the device in the same time frame due to increases in the supply chain, with bugs in manufacturing finally being worked out.
If you don't like Apple, you're going to be hoping for the first, though some recent reports suggest that it's the latter. Either way, for those looking to pick up a new device, you'll now have one week less to wait from ordering to receiving.
