GeForce FX - NV30 finally has a name?

By: (more) | Video Cards News | Posted: Nov 18, 2002 3:16 am

Investor's Business Daily has an article of sorts up telling us what we already knew about nVidia and connection between "Shrek" and "Monsters Inc" movies…

However, it is toward the end of the article that your attention should be drawn to. They say nVidia officials told them that nVidia's codename NV30 graphics core to be announced tomorrow at Comdex in Las Vegas will be called the GeForce FX and hit store shelves February next year for around $360 US.

The GeForce FX chips are set to go on sale in February. Gaming enthusiasts will be able to buy a graphics card with a GeForce FX chip for about $360, Nvidia officials say. They also say some workstation and PC makers plan to include the chips in new machines, including Fujitsu Siemens Computers.
