More on enabling Hyper-Threading

By: (more) | Posted: Nov 18, 2002 3:09 am

The folks over at VR-Zone have been busy reading through Intel datasheets trying to figure out exactly how to enable Hyper-Threading on older Northwood core Pentium 4 processors. They seem to have narrowed it down to pin A31 which needs a bit of attention.

A31 is the pin that handle HT on and off and disabling it will enable HT. The question is how to disable that pin to enable HT? One of the way may be just by covering the pin by painting it with a non-conductive liquid. RiStaR has painted the pins on both the 1.8A and 2.4B ES but currently they both do not enable the switch so there are two possibilities.
