The skinny on Nexus 4 - powerhouse smartphone for just $299

By: (more) | Mobile Devices, Tablets & Phones News | Posted: Oct 30, 2012 3:35 am

We reported earlier on last night that Google had unveiled their Nexus 4 smartphone which is built by LG, but the detailed specs are now here for you to ogle over.

Nexus 4 will sport a 4.7-inch TrueHD IPS Plus display with a 1280x768 resolution, an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera, Gorilla Glass 2, Qualcomm's Snapdragon S4 Pro, 2GB of RAM, Android 4.2 and the latest update of Google Now.

Nexus 4 will be sold unlocked through around 200 carriers, will be available in both 8GB and 16GB variants, and will go on sale in the US, UK, Canada, Germany, France, Spain and Australia on November 13. Pricing is set at just $299 outright for the 8GB model, and $349 for the 16GB model.

If you were waiting on a smartphone, I really think this is it. $349 for a 16GB flagship smartphone is just nuts, considering Apple's iPhone 5 is close to twice that price, this is quite the steal.
