ZTE to release Firefox OS-powered smartphones early next year
It looks like ZTE is slowly leaving the Android camp with news that the Chinese manufacturer is going to release new smartphones based on Mozilla's upcoming Firefox OS. The new phones will reach the market in Q1 2013.
The news comes from ZTE's Executive Vice President, He Shiyou, who told The Wall Street Journal that ZTE will launch new Firefox OS-powered smartphones early next year, he also took the time to confirm that the company are to release Windows Phone 8-based smartphones later this year.
Now we should start wondering what Google are going to do with this news, seeing that ZTE are moving into the Firefox OS camp with their new smartphones. Will we see a degradation of the relationship between the Mountain View-based company, and ZTE?
