OCZ gets new interim CEO as Ryan Petersen resigns

OCZ's board has appointed an interim CEO after 'acceptance of Ryan Petersen's resignation'
| BREAKING STORY News | Posted: Sep 17, 2012 8:55 pm

Bright Side of News is reporting that OCZ's founder and CEO has been ousted by the board of directors. While the statement says that they tendered his resignation, BSN appears to believe that the board has ousted him, likely due to the many missteps the company has taken as of late.

According to OCZ's statement, "Alex Mei, Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer as Interim CEO, effective immediately. Mr. Mei's appointment follows the Board's acceptance of Ryan Petersen's resignation as President, CEO and a director of the Company. Mr. Mei will also maintain his current responsibilities as EVP and Chief Marketing Officer until a permanent CEO has been selected."

It's not exactly clear what effect this will have on the stock. As of late, OCZ's shares have been falling and this change in leadership may be enough to get them to bounce back. We will be sure to keep you updated with the latest happenings over at OCZ.
