This just in, hot off the printing press is an image that would appear to be a fresh batch of marketing material coming off of a printing press. In the picture, the large sheets of paper feature a picture of the device, inclusive of its 5 rows of icons, and the words "The Next iPhone."

There had been some speculation that the next iPhone would simply be called "iPhone" as it was the only Apple product with a numerical designation. With the release of the iPad 3, the numerical part of the name was dropped from the naming scheme and we were left to call it the "iPad." It appears the same may happen with the iPhone.

It's nice to finally figure out what to call the device, since the invitation to the press event teased that the device could be called the iPhone 5. Of course, this could be a fake, but it seems really unlikely that it is. However, calling it simply "The Next iPhone" could very well cause more confusion that simplification.
