Motorola have announced they are holding a joint event with chipmaker, Intel, on September 18. Considering the two announced a collaboration back in January at CES, could see see the first Intel-powered smartphone from Motorola announced on September 18?

Motorola have an invitation out, it doesn't say much, apart from "let us take you to the edge". Edge seems highlighted, so could we expect a new phone from Motorola with an 'Edge' branding? There's been rumors of the handset for a little while now, but nothing concrete.

Rumors pointed to it running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, but I'd expect a flagship, Intel-powered phone to be running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean if it's being announced in mid-September. In any case, it's all exciting for the smart device industry right now!
