By: (more) | Gaming News | Posted: Aug 28, 2012 3:29 am

Minecraft's success has passed from the PC, to the Xbox 360 on the XBLA. Mojang's game is still ripping the Xbox Live Arcade charts, with the developer announcing that Minecraft for the Xbox 360 passing 3.6 million copies sold on the platform.

Daniel Kaplan, Mojang's business developer, announced the news on Twitter, saying that he was "really surprised" to learn of Minecraft's XBLA milestone. Within an hour of hitting XBLA, it had become profitable, as well as breaking sales records. In July, Markus "Notch" Persson, announced that Minecraft had passed the three million unit sales mark.

How is Minecraft on PC doing? Well, it has passed an insane seven million units sold. Quite the success for the relatively basic looking (graphics-wise) game that it is.
