Google delays Nexus Q, says that its upcoming media streamer needs more work to "make it better"

Google's strange, yet sexy "social media streamer", Nexus Q, has been delayed. The company has said that the delay is because they want to "work on making it even better", which they said in a note to those who pre-ordered the unit.

The company does add that they're responding to user feedback from previewers who want it to "do even more than it does today", and in order to show people that there are no hard feelings, Google will be "extend[ing] [the] Nexus Q preview to our pre-order customers and send[ing] [them] a free device". Now, you can't really complain about that now, can you!

Engadget asked Google to clarify that last bit, with Google replying with:

We are sending a free Nexus Q to any users who pre-ordered the device at no cost to them.

This time, it seriously pays to be an early adopter. I'm regretting not pre-ordering one now, but that's what happens when you live Australia. Boo.
