Windows Phone 8 to bring native screenshot ability to the platform
Windows Phone users, you can finally rejoice in the knowledge that Microsoft is just like Apple in that they are hesitant to add features wanted by users. Just like it took Apple a long time to add copy and paste to iOS, it has taken Microsoft at least an equal time, if not longer, to add native screenshot capabilities to Windows Mobile.
The video above shows the new feature in action. Not only is this a nice feature for users as they can now capture those auto correct fails more easily, it fills a need for journalists and bloggers covering the platform. It's extremely maddening to try and write about an app when you can't capture a screenshot.
It's not really clear why the feature has taken so long to be added, and in fact it hasn't yet been added. Windows Phone 8 is due out in a couple of months and is based on an entirely new core. Due to this, current Windows Phone devices won't be able to run the new OS, which comes as a major disappointment to many current device owners.
