12-way video calling arrives on Facebook, iPad thanks to ooVoo

ooVoo may not have the same market penetration as Skype or Facetime, but if they keep doing things like this, they soon will be. The video chat service announced today that they're bringing its 12-way video calling feature to Facebook.

The company has also made improvements to their iPad experience, as well as other apps for the iPhone, Android, Mac and Windows. The Mac and PC apps have had 12-way video calling for a while, but the introduction of Facebook 12-way is quite the move for ooVoo.

You don't even need to be a member of ooVoo to have a 12-way on Facebook, all you need to do is invite other Facebook friends to initiate a chat with your Facebook friends. ooVoo steps it up further by offering the same 12-way experience on the iPad. The new iPad app will allow for 12-way calls, and four-way simultaneously HD video. The company is also refreshing the remainder of their apps, iPhone, PC and Android, with a cleaner UI and Facebook integration.

All of ooVoo's services are free, but are ad-supported.
