RumorTT: Amazon to unleash 10.1-inch Fire, 8.9-inch could be delayed
In their constant battle against Apple and their iPad, Amazon are rumored to be delaying plans to launch an 8.9-inch Fire, and instead, launch a 10.1-inch model. DigiTimes is the source of this info, and have said that the larger screen would help Amazon combat the iPad.

The 8.9-inch design was set to take battle against Samsung's GALAXY Note. Other sources also talked of a front-lit version of the Kindle, as well as a larger Fire, but didn't mention release dates at all. The same sources also downplayed the possibility of a color Kindle e-reader due to the technology needing further improvement.
Amazon have had a bumpy ride with the Kindle, where it went on to become the most popular Android-based tablet, but also dropped in sales recently.
