I'm Sorry... Did You Say 196GB of RAM?

| Posted: Sep 25, 2002 2:16 am

Yes, I said 196 GIGABYTES of RAM. That's the amount of RAM the servers over in nVidia's "Server Farm" contain... and use. How did I find this out? It's simple, I read the article, Inside ATI & nVidia: How They Make Frames Fly over at AnandTech.com. They've managed to get both ATI and nVidia to give them walkthrough tours of their facilities. If you're interested in getting up close and personal with these giants of Tech, then this is some coverage you'd better not miss out on!

"It's rare that you see the CEO of a company the size of NVIDIA just walking around and interacting with the thousands of employees, but that's what we've come to expect from NVIDIA's Chief Executive Jen-Hsun Huang. We were eating at NVIDIA's cafeteria when Jen-Hsun walked by (of course cutting to the front of the line, one of the perks of being the CEO of NVIDIA) and offered to buy us lunch, apparently if you tell the cafeteria workers that Jen-Hsun is buying they just let you through - no questions asked."
