Apple finally announces iPad 3 media event, to be held in San Francisco on March 7

iPad 3 media event to be held on March 7... finally

| Mobile Devices, Tablets & Phones News | Posted: Feb 29, 2012 12:32 am

After a rumored March 7th announcement, it has finally been confirmed: Apple have finally begun to rollout invitations to relevant media outfits (except me, boo) in preparation for a media event on March 7, in San Francisco. The media event is all about the new iPad. Where in San Francisco exactly? Well, it's at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts.

After years of Samsung-produced screens, Apple have finally changed hands and shifted to Sharp for the production of the iPad's Retina Display. With the new high-res display, we should expect a much better camera on the iPad, considering how (in my opinion) poor the iPad 2's snapper was. We should expect a minimum of 5- but I'm guessing more along the lines of an 8-megapixel camera on the iPad 3.

Processor-wise, there was talk of the A6 quad-core processor, but there has been more talk of the A5 dual-core processor. Time will tell, and with only a week to go, we should start getting pretty excited over Apple's upcoming announcement. Will you get one? Two? More? Or will you wait to see what Samsung, and the others can offer to challenge the iPad 3?
