This is a step in a different direction, as previous Flight Simulator games were serious simulations, but Microsoft promises fan of the original will "feel right at home." Microsoft Flight introduces region-specific weather patterns, foliage, terrain and landmarks. Games for Windows LIVE intros access to achievements, additional free content such as missions, an online pilot profile, and an extra plane: the Bowing Stearman.

Additional purchases are possible, like new aircraft and regions, which is made possible through your LIVE account. Interestingly, Microsoft Flight is not a replacement for the discontinued Flight Simulator franchise, but a new take on the game.
