Albatron release Turbo-Charged Ti4200

By: (more) | Posted: Aug 26, 2002 11:24 am

Venny from Albatron let us know about the release of their GeForce4 Ti4200 Turbo cards in both 64mb and 128mb models. The cards memory clock has been clocked 50MHz over spec, hence the "Turbo" naming - the core clock speed hasn't been increased.

The reasons behind the Ti 4200 Turbo and Ti 4200P Turbofs high performance advantage is an 8-layer PCB that is also used in the Ti 4600 chipset. This design strategy helps to improve voltage stability. In addition, 3.3ns BGA DDR RAM is used to allow VRAM clock cycles to exceed 550MHz. When the Ti 4200P Turbo graphics card was tested against the 3D-Mark 2001 SE diagnostics utility softwareiNote 2j, the total scores reached 11,774 using a 1024x768 screen resolution. Compared with the higher rated Ti 4600 class products, the difference in performance was less than 5%.
