Epox 8K5A2+ looked at by Legion

By: (more) | Posted: Aug 24, 2002 3:59 am

Steven over at Legion Hardware has taken a look at Epox's latest VIA solution, the 8K5A2+ based on the KT333 chipset for the AMD Athlon platform. It might seem strange to some that Epox are releasing a new mobo based on the KT333 chipset this late, there's a reason though - DDR400 is far from perfected yet.

For such a high performance board the 8K5A2+ was not short on features either. Featuring ATA133 RAID, Diagnostic LED, 6-Channel Audio and onboard Network, the 8K5A2+ has all the goods. Stability was another important performance feature of the 8K5A2+, after looping the 3Dmark2001 SE test for 24 hours I encountered no problems.
