Ars Technica takes a look at Pioneer's DVR-A04 DVD-RW drive.

There has been a lot of excitement and interest in the Pioneer DVR-A04 as of late, and for good reason. It's comparatively inexpensive, has a good reputation for drive and burn quality, and has copious capabilities. And even though CD-RWs are great, there are also plenty of reasons why you might want to invest in a DVD-RW drive: authoring Video DVDs, backing up your system to hefty 4.7GB discs, and being able to take all your important data with you on the go are just a few of them.
