Trident Microsystems XP4 Interview

By: (more) | Posted: Aug 19, 2002 11:41 pm

Hardware Accelerated recently had a chance to interview Le T. Nguyen of Trident, where they asked a slew of questions about the Trident XP4 chip. This chip promises to provide near GeForce4 Ti4600 performance, and 3/4 the performance of a Radeon 9700 for only $100.

On August 5th Trident Microsystems announced its XP4 family of graphics chips, bringing DX8.1 features to the low-end market. Trident, who's been in the graphics market for years now, departed from the PC sector years ago as it started to heat up with immense competition, but now is fully fledged to make a return to the market. Thanks to Robert Gelphman for setting up this interview, and to Le T. Nguyen who was kind enough to answer some questions.
