Exceleram readies up a 32GB quad channel memory kit for X79

By: (more) | RAM News | Posted: Nov 10, 2011 5:52 pm

With Sandy Bridge-E just around the corner now, memory companies are beginning to gear up with supporting quad-channel memory kits for Intel's next gen top tier LGA-2011 platform, with Corsair being first out the gate to expose such a kit when they announced their upcoming Dominator Series quad-channel 32GB kit early last month.

Now german memory maker Exceleram has come forward announcing their plans to release a 32GB quad-channel kit to market in the near future for the aforementioned platform. Falling into their Grand DDR3-Series line, the kit comprises 4x8GB modules and sports red heat spreaders.

The modules are rated to run at 1333MHz with latencies of CL 9-9-9-24 and a voltage of 1.5v. That sure is looking rather conservative indeed, but hopefully it means pricing (yet to be mentioned) is low enough to allow people to jump onto the quad-channel bandwagon for their shiny new X79/Core i7 rig without breaking the bank.
