Sony has completed some spring cleaning of their PlayStation Home, and will relaunch tomorrow sporting a new, refreshed design. The redecorated Hub will hit PlayStation 3 consoles in North America tomorrow, which includes "genre-based districts" split into Action for core gamers, Sportswalk for related scores, news and titles, Adventure which will extend the Uncharted 3 experience, Pier Park that will host arcade games, PlayStation Home Theater for media content, and PlayStation Home Mall for the purchasing of DLC.
The new update also includes a few "freemium" titles, with a bunch of mini-games like Bootleggers '29, poker-based PlayStation Home Hold 'Em, PlayStation Home Sport Trivia, racer RC Rally and 3D puzzle game Cogs.
Jack Buser, director of PlayStation Home, SCEA says:
This is a major milestone for PlayStation Network, and we are thrilled to bring a new core experience to PlayStation Home where games are front and center. Home's community is made up of some of the most passionate gamers on PS3, and we've listened to their feedback since Home launched in 2008, finally transforming Home itself into a game. This redesign marks a new beginning for PlayStation Home, and players can expect much more to come.
