| Mobile Devices, Tablets & Phones News | Posted: Nov 1, 2011 3:58 pm

If you want to be out of the confines of Apple's control, well, you'll be happy to know that the iPhone Dev-Team is already showing off a preliminary jailbreak for the iPhone 4S and iPad 2. This news is based on a tweet from MuscleNerd, iClarified is reporting that while Dev-Team has found a way to sneak Cydia onto both devices, the actual jailbreak is still "very preliminary" and "huge missing pieces prevent public release. LOTS of work left...".

So it's not ready yet, but its definitely on its way and this is enough to get iPhone 4S and iPad 2 owners quite happy indeed. As this becomes available, be sure to know that we will keep you posted with any developments! Until then, there's a YouTube video below that shows off the iPad 2 running iOS 5 with the preliminary jailbreak showing off Cydia successfully loading up.
