Toshiba rolls in three new 1080p Camileo Camcorders

By: (more) | Cameras News | Posted: Oct 4, 2011 8:52 pm

Toshiba has given its Camileo family of camcorders a refreshment this week with three new additions which all provide Full HD (1920 x 1080) video recording and sport 3-inch swivel-style LCD touchscreens.

Two of the three new models, the X416 and X400 are scheduled for arrival on October 10th, while the X200 should be available in stores as you read this. The first two (X416 and X400) give 23x optical zoom and 120X digital zoom, using a 5-Megapixel BSI (Backside Illuminated) CMOS sensor which is capable of 16MP stills. They both have SD/SDHC/SDXC memory slots and feature Electronic Image Stabilization and a built-in stereo microphone.

Where the X416 and X400 differ is in the internal storage side of things, with the X416 housing a 16GB SSD and the X400 not having internal storage.

As for the Camileo X200, the cheapest of the three, it features a 12X optical zoom, 8MP CMOS sensor (providing up to 16MP stills), Electronic Image Stabilization, SD card slot and stereo mic.

Pricing? The 16GB SSD equipped X416 will set you back $319.99, while the X400 is $279.99. And the X200 comes in at $229.99.
