Google's Ice Cream Sandwich to arrive in October?

Google to release Ice Cream Sandwich in October?

| Mobile Devices, Tablets & Phones News | Posted: Aug 11, 2011 3:00 am

Google's next-gen mobile operating system might arrive in just two months time. Ice Cream Sandwich is rumored to be arriving sometime in October with the rumor coming from BGR who have been tipped off by "a source with knowledge of Google's Ice Cream Sandwich plans." Of course, with this just being a rumor there are no solid plans or information. Apple is set to launch their next-generation iPhone 5 in between September and October so this would be a delicious time to release Ice Cream Sandwich.

Ice Cream Sandwich is meant to bridge the gap between smartphones and tablets, as it will be capable of running on both which will be a nice change. Samsung is rumored to be the first ouf of the game with the first Ice Cream Sandwich-powered smartphone in the form of the Nexus Prime. It is rumored to sport a Super AMOLED HD display running 720p with an OMAD 4460 processor inside. Other specs include a 4G LTE radio, 1GB of RAM, 1080p HD video capture and playback, a 1-megapixel front-facing camera, a 5-megapixel rear camera "delivering class-leading image quality in addition to superior low-light performance."
