Essentially an open designed external caddy.

Silverstone has outed a new accessory for storage devices today which is essentially a stripped down type of external storage enclosure, part aluminum part plastic, that makes for easy switching between HDDs on your desktop.

The SD01 external hard drive pad, as SilverStone call it, can take both 2.5 and 3.5" sized drives using either the SATA or SAS 3/6Gbps interface. Dimensions of the pad come in at 195 (L) x 121.5 (W) x 31.5 (H) mm with a weight of just 180g.

Initial pricing on the SD01 has shown up in Europe at 29.90 Euro - it should be available elsewhere anytime soon.
