Windows Phone 7 Connector, puts your Home Server in your hand

By: (more) | Mobile Devices, Tablets & Phones News | Posted: Jul 18, 2011 2:46 am

Windows Server Solutions Phone Connector, mixed with a Windows Home Server 2011-powered machine and a Windows Phone 7 handset, you're going to want to take note. The combination of server-side plug-in and phone app allows a user to remotely control their server - things like backups, managing users and viewing alerts becomes something you can do quite easily on your WP7-powered handset.

It also allows the viewing of media files stored on your server, but doesn't allow copying them to the WP7 device just yet. This new feature is not just for home users either, the plug-in works with Windows Small Business Server 2011 Essentials and Windows Storage Server 2008 R2 Essentials, for smaller companies that rely on Microsoft-powered mobiles.
