Apple's usual announce and release dates for iPhones have always been this time of the year, but Apple have missed the mark this year and are now rumored to be announcing and releasing the next-generation iPhone 5 in August. Apple has been rumored to be giving some developers access to a device known as the iPhone 4S, an iPhone 4 with upgraded internals. This is not the iPhone 5, which is rumored to include anything from an 8-megapixel camera by Sony to a larger, but thinner bezel.

According to BGR, the iPhone 5 will have a radical new case design. Many people are expecting Apple to announce the new iPhone at their annual September event which is usually iPod-focused. Apple may break tradition and hold an even in the middle of August for the announcement of the next-generation iPhone.
