RumorTT: Windows tablet OS to be previewed next week?

By: (more) | Mobile Devices News | Posted: May 27, 2011 3:15 am

This is just a rumor for now, but the rumor is so juicy that I had to post it. It is rumored that Microsoft will preview its Windows operating system designed for tablet-based systems in demonstrations planned for next week. Microsoft is reportedly rushing to adapt Windows to better support devices that can compete with Apple's iPad which currently dominates the tablet market.

The new tablet-based OS from Microsoft isn't expected until next year, people familiar with the plans had said and more specifically, March of next year. Microsoft is rumored to be showcasing the software's touch-screen interface running on NVIDIA-based Tegra hardware. Right now, this sits in the "ooh, can't wait to see it pile", and as soon as there are some hard facts, pictures or videos, we shall wait patiently.
