Samsung Galaxy S II nabs 200, 000 pre-orders in Korea in just a week

By: (more) | Mobile Devices News | Posted: May 5, 2011 2:48 am

Samsung has reported they've taken over 200, 000 pre-orders for their upcoming Android-powered Galaxy S II smartphone from all three major Korean carriers from last week. 160, 000 of the pre-orders were from Korea's largest carrier, SK Telecom. Samsung's pre-order numbers are higher than the number of iPhone 4 pre-orders in August 2010, the iPhone 4 only had 110, 000 pre-orders.

Note that Samsung is a Korean company whilst Apple is an American company and Apple only had KT as it's carrier when the phone was launched. Samsung has planned to sell the same number of Galaxy S II's as it's predecessor, 10 million is the target for 2011.
