Whoops: PlayStation Network Still Down, Out

By: (more) | Gaming News | Posted: Apr 21, 2011 7:53 pm

Today, from the Official PlayStation Blog, a further update on the current PlayStation Network Outage:

While we are investigating the cause of the Network outage, we wanted to alert you that it may be a full day or two before we're able to get the service completely back up and running. Thank you very much for your patience while we work to resolve this matter. Please stay tuned to this space for more details, and we'll update you again as soon as we can.

Yesterday, PlayStation posted the following on the same site:

We're aware certain functions of PlayStation Network are down. We will report back here as soon as we can with more information. Thank you for your patience.

I couldn't help but laughing at the use of "aware"- that always indicates that 234282093 people or so have emailed them saying the same thing, and probably angrily considering the date. For all you non-Americans, April 20th, aside from being the birthday of both Adolf Hitler and one of my ex-girlfriends, and the day of the infamous and tragic Columbine school shootings, is also National Marijuana Smoking day. I can only imagine the amount of angry stoners pinging Sony complaining about how they can't play a multi-player game with their buddies that could have easily been accomplished in person but they were probably all too high to drive to each other.

Thank you once again, America. Either way, should be another update soon.
