Windows 8 is set to include its own PDF reader, death stares Adobe into oblivion

By: (more) | Software News | Posted: Apr 6, 2011 2:22 am

Microsoft is looking to include it's own Portable Document Format (PDF) reader in Windows 8 dubbed, Modern Reader. Modern Reader will display PDFs as one would expect, including functions for zooming in and out, page scrubber on the side of the application, side-by-side page views.

Adobe has pretty much stopped Microsoft in their tracks when it comes to supplying PDF to Windows as a standard, but now things are changing. Right now it could be that Modern Reader is simply a PDF reader, but I'm sure more information will become available soon enough.
