Griffin Technology PowerMate Review

By: (more) | Posted: Jul 27, 2002 5:09 am

ExtremeCooling has reviewed a gadget that those looking for "that something different" might find kewl.

Cool. What is it?" The question as to what the darned thing does is bound to draw more then a little speculation. It is, in fact, loosely a computer volume control. Plug it into your USB port, and with a twist of the dial (the uppermost section) you can, by default, control your computer's volume level, which varies the brightness of the device's glowing base accordingly. A push downward on the dial mutes the sound, and dims the base. To top it off, if you put your computer to sleep (suspend), the base slowly pulses on and off.
