Samsung announces T-Mobile Sidekick 4G - text messages itself, LOL

By: (more) | Mobile Devices News | Posted: Mar 20, 2011 2:00 pm

Ah, Sidekicks - you were ever so awesome for your text messaging abilities, but on came the iPhone and really smashed the whole "let's have two phones, shall we" mantra that I had. T-Mobile has announced an Android-powered Sidekick that is coming from Samsung 'later this spring'.

The Android-powered Sidekick 4G runs an Android 2.2-based OS, has a 1GHz Hummingbird processor, 3 megapixel cam and a touchscreen 3.5-inch WVGA screen. Nice specs for a Sidekick device. It includes Samsung Media Hub and Qik video calling. Other features included are DriveSmart (which locks out texting while driving for the text messaging obsessed) and Sidekick Group Text and Cloud Text.
