Sony has announced a pair of new cameras that fall into the higher-end of the point and shoot market. The new cameras are the HX100V and the HX9V. The two are both super zoom offerings that share many of the same features. The cameras are both 16.2MP cameras with Exmor CMOS sensors. They both have Sweep Panorama feature, and both have a 3-inch rear LCD.

They are also both able to record 1080p HD video at 60 fps and shoot 3MP still photos while recording video as well. The difference between the two boils down to zoom range. The HX100V has a 30x zoom lens and the HX9V has a 16x optical zoom lens. The HX100V will sell for $450 and the HX9V will sell for $350 with both hitting the Sony Style store in February.
