HyperDrive HDD for iPad grows to 1TB

By: (more) | Storage News | Posted: Jan 31, 2011 7:06 pm

When it comes to storage, iPad users don't get SD card slots like many other tablets offer for expansion. Once the internal storage on your iPad fills up, it's typically deletion that will get you more room for new apps and photos. HyperShop has a way around having to delete stuff for iPad users called the HyperDrive.

The HyperDrive has been around for a while now and the company has announced that it has a new and higher capacity version for iPad users that is a bit cheaper than the older version of the HyperDrive with the built-in LCD and memory card readers. The new version comes in up to 1TB capacity and lacks the LCD and memory card slots.

The files on the drive are navigated directly from an the iPad. The 1TB version of the drive is $399.95 and will ship in 4-6 weeks according to the maker. The drive connects to the iPad via the USB camera connection kit, which isn't included. Since this is just a USB drive it would seem you can use it on computers as well.
